Fly Fishing Guides in Branson Missouri

If you can’t wait to relax and enjoy some fly fishing wile in Branson, consider giving River Run Outfitters a call.  They have a full line fly fishing shop and expert guide service.  On their site customers can be photographed with the fish they caught and have the option of showing up on the blog.  They also have various fishing tips and recipes for making fishing flies such as midges and dun.  Visit their web site at River Run Outfitters.  Or call 1.877.699.FISH (3474).  Located at 2626 State Hwy. 165, Branson, MO  65616 (click for Map)

I also highly recommend contacting Tracy Frenzel for fly fishing and or bass fishing.  You can contact him via MySpace.com/bransontrout.

Another well seasoned fishing guide in Branson, MO is Dave of Dave’s Guide Service.  He has 20 years worth of experience in the Branson/Tri-Lakes area and has full or half day trips.  Visit his web site for latest rates and information at: FishBranson.com.

If you’re looking for fly fishing rods, gear, flies and the latest on what is catching the best trout, stop by one of the bait or fishing shops on the way to Lake Taneycomo.  There’s a Bass Pro Shop at the Branson Landing, too.

Also, on a side note the most popular place to go fly fishing if you want to try yourself is to go below the Table Rock Dam.  You cannot use bait below the dam area, but can fly fish or use lures.

Save yourself a lot of time, agony and frustration by calling the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to find out when they are “running water”.  If they are running water  you will have a very hard time catching trout.  Best time to go is when they are NOT running water.  Contact them at (417) 334-4101

Branson Fishing Report

If you’re really serious about your trout or bass fishing you might to take a look at the days’ fishing report.  See what the trout are biting on in TaneyComo or Bass are biting on at Table Rock Lake.  One of the best tips I’ve heard recently is to simply check the Farmer’s Almanac.  I met a fisherman who swears by it.  Take a look at it here: Farmer’s Almanac Wright’s Fishing Calendar.

Branson Landing Hotels

Planning on visiting Branson, Missouri in the near future?  Looking for a hotel at or near the Branson Landing?  Here are a few hotels to consider… some are right at the Landing and others are very close:

Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing: 3 Branson Landing, Branson, MO  65616.  (417) 336-5500.  Located right at the Branson Landing on Lake Taneycomo and is pretty much brand new.  Sits directly across from the Hilton Branson Convention Center.  Walk to shops, restaurants, bars and old classic downtown Branson shops.  Starbucks coffee and trout fishing in walking distance, too!

Best Western Landing View Inn & Suites: 403 West Highway 76, Branson, MO  65616.  (800) 828-0404.  This is an older hotel/motel that is actually closer to the old downtown Branson than the Branson Landing.  It’s still very close, but it isn’t right on the landing.  Sits in the middle of the hill on Hwy 76 below McDonald’s and Steak n Shake… so roughly 3 blocks from the landing.  Features indoor pool, wireless internet (wifi), breakfast lounge and more.  Excellent location, walking distance to all the good stuff downtown at an affordable price.
