As of this writing, we’re only 2 days away from 4th of July fireworks celebrations in Branson, Missouri.  There are a ton of places to watch fireworks… and if you have never watched them here, the best place to go is Table Rock Lake.  One of the easiest and best viewing spots is to go to the Table Rock State Park.  Get there early enough and you can swim and float on a raft while watching the fireworks.  This is the park next to the Table Rock Dam.  You can get an excellent view of the fireworks at the Chateau on the Lake.

If you have a boat, that is even better.  Be careful though as there’s a lot of boat traffic.

Throughout the town of Branson, Missouri, there are a few webcams that you can take a look at to see what’s going on live…. in real time.  One fun thing you can do is take note of where these webcams are and call your friends with your cell phone and see if they can see you online.  When you call them, just give them this web site address and direct them to the cam where you are.  They are also great to get an idea of how busy things are… how the weather is… or perhaps just to get a sneak peak at Branson before or after you visit.  Here are some of the more popular ones.  At least one even lets you pan, tilt and zoom… control the camera from your computer!  Another gives you a view of Lake Taneycomo… so perhaps you can see if the water is running before you go fishing.  (If the water is running, don’t even bother).

Planning to do some shopping in Branson, Missouri?  Branson now has so many places to shop people from Springfield and other cities drive down just to do their shopping.  Personally, I think the best outlet mall is the Tanger Outlet Mall.  The Branson Landing is nicer, but their prices are still a bit higher than average.  A new outlet mall was being built across from Wal-Mart but construction has stopped (at least for now).  Anyway, overall definitely check out Tanger Outlet, Branson Landing and the Apple Tree Mall for some craft stuff.  Apple Tree Mall is located in the same parking lot as Applebee’s.

If you are visiting Branson, Missouri or live in the area and want to have a relaxing day of golf, here is the current list of golf courses located in Branson and the surrounding area.  Some golf courses have a laid back dress code, others require at least a shirt with a collar.  For a really fun and laid back golf course near Branson, check out Bridgewood Country Club Taneycomo Golf Course.  Give them a call… but back in the day they were pretty relaxed about their rules, etc.

From what I’ve heard, the best golf course (and one of the most expensive) is Branson Creek Golf Course.  I’ve heard nothing but good about them.

Take a look around and call in advance for tee times, general questions, etc.  If you plan to golf in the summer, bring a hat, sunscreen and drinks.  Most have cute cart girls that drive around and offer drinks for you during your game.

Whether you live in Branson or are vacationing in Branson, every now and then you’ve gotta escape reality and see a movie.  There are basically three movie theaters in Branson, and two of them are in the same building.  In my opinion the best place to see a movie is the Branson Meadows Cinema.  They have awesome screens, comfortable seats and reasonable prices.  Call in advance, as I beleive on Tuesdays they have an all you can eat popcorn deal - bring your own bag and they will fill it up for one price.

You can also see IMAX movies and regular movies at the Branson IMAX Entertainment Complex.  Regular movies are in the Elite Cinema III (3).  Check the movie showtimes via Google on the link at the bottom.  Save money and go to Wal-Mart and buy candy and have your girlfriend or wife put it in her purse.  Oh sorry…. I didn’t say that.
